COMPANY PROFILE
Las Vegas Dissemination Company (LVDC) is the industry leader
for pari-mutuel wagering and race track simulcasting. As the
racing industry’s only full-service, race information and
off-track-betting hub facility, LVDC is the exclusive
pari-mutuel service provider for Nevada’s gaming industry and
all major, out-of-state casinos including Atlantis Paradise
Island Casino (Bahamas); Cities of Gold
(New Mexico); Elite Turf Club (Curacao); Foxwoods Resort
Casino (Connecticut); Meskwaki Casino (Iowa) and The Stables
(Oklahoma). In all, the company provides common-pooling
through its hub into nearly 100 racetracks throughout North
America.
LVDC’s key market advantage is that it is Nevada's only
licensed systems operator for pari-mutuel wagering. To that
end, the company holds three non-restricted Nevada gaming
licenses as a disseminator, live broadcast disseminator, and
pari-mutuel systems operator. LVDC operates under the
regulatory oversight of the Nevada Gaming Control Board and
Nevada Gaming Commission (which regulates all the casinos in
Las Vegas and throughout the state of Nevada).
COMPANY HISTORY
Founded in 1988 by majority owner John Gaughan, son of Coast
Resorts founder Michael Gaughan and grandson of gaming legend
Jackie Gaughan, LVDC is a privately owned corporation. Since
that time, the company has grown from a three-person operation
operating in a 300 square foot office near Fremont Street to
its market leader position as the largest provider of
pari-mutuel wagering and horse racing simulcasts.
A key milestone of the company occurred in 1990 when Nevada’s
Gaming industry conducted a test to implement off-track
pari-mutuel wagering between Nevada licensed race books and
various racetracks throughout the country. LVDC was selected
as the systems operator to conduct the new venture. Following
a successful one year test period, LVDC entered into a long
term exclusive contract with the Nevada Pari-Mutuel
Association (NPMA) for off-track pari-mutuel wagering, and
remains the sole Nevada licensed provider of this service.
WHAT WE DO
LVDC provides a turnkey package of race information,
pari-mutuel comingling, satellite racing signals, accounting, and banking
services to its Nevada and non-Nevada customers. The package
includes making arrangements for the installation and
maintenance of equipment, training of personnel,
reconciliations, bank transfers, contracts with race tracks,
communication lines, and payments to the race tracks.
Additionally, LVDC provides hard copy back-up information to
substantiate winners and payouts for each race and confirm
pertinent racing information throughout the day for our
clients. Our staff is comprised of individuals who are
experienced with racetrack operations, tote systems,
race/sports operations, and all accounting practices
associated with this specialized industry.
